Our solutions

Renewable

Isola Composite has been an active renewables player for several years. In this field, composite materials present tangible benefits since they are durable and economical in raw material use. As such, Isola Composite had a clear role to play in renewables.

At our plant, we produce various insulation materials for components of electric batteries and fuel cells as well as electrolyzers.

Today, we harness our expertise for industries promoting renewables.

Isola Composites manufactures insulators for electric batteries and electric or hydrogen battery chargers

Isola Composite is committed to the renewables cause and is a recognized leader in the composites market.

Our teams face the challenge of new and fast-developing requirements across the industry and our priority is to meet the needs of intensive charging. As an example, our products are used in both “standard” charging stations (supplying 3 to 30 kW in alternating current, or “AC”) and fast charging stations (30 to 60+ kW in direct current, or “DC”).

Our production will rise to each, and every challenge posed by new industry requirements. This is a catalyst for scaling up performance using increasingly efficient materials.

In this spirit, we design and manufacture conductor insulation in battery chargers, comprising plates, strips and machined parts. To ensure user safety, we are responsible for optimizing insulation between the various battery charger components.

We know what you’re thinking… how can you charge faster and stronger? Well, now you can with Isola Composite's Delmat® composite insulation.

On top of that, in an electric vehicle battery, it is critical that the various components are properly insulated to avoid any risk of short-circuiting.

An electric battery includes a battery pack, cells and modules. It must also be designed to prevent electric arcing in the materials.

Isola Composite: your dedicated fuel cell manufacturer

Isola Composite produces machined insulation parts to support the electrical insulation and mechanical strengthening of hydrogen fuel cell structures, for all electrolytes:

  • stationary fuel cells, which produce an electric current from the recombination of oxygen and hydrogen;
  • on-board fuel cells used in electric cars and buses.

Isola Composite fabricates machined insulation parts serving to mechanically reinforce the structure of hydrogen fuel cells.

We design and manufacture fuel cell front panels by optimizing the dielectric insulation and mechanical strengthening of this assembly.

As insulation specialists, we guarantee best-in-class quality and safety while sustaining the performance of hydrogen fuel cells.
